What we collect
- Account. Your name and email, the way you sign in, your plan, and the billing identifiers our payment processor gives us. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Waitlist. If you join the waitlist before launch: your email, which button you used to join, the campaign tags on the link that brought you there, and the page, referrer, browser and time of signing up. Described in section 2.
- The listings you bring in. The links you paste and the publicly available listing content we retrieve from them, described in section 4.
- What you write. The angles you write or edit, the comments you leave on a video, and anything else you type into Proveny.
- What is generated for you. The understanding produced from a listing, the scripts, and the videos, stored in your account so you can review, revise and download them.
- Usage and technical data. Pages viewed, actions and their timestamps, credit activity, IP address, device and browser, and error logs.
We do not collect your customers’ data. Proveny has no connection to your store, so orders, buyers, refunds and traffic never reach us. If you type something personal into a comment or an angle, it reaches us as part of that text, so please do not.
If you join the waitlist
Before Proveny opens to everyone, the marketing site collects emails from people who want to hear when it launches. Signing up is the only thing that sends your details anywhere: browsing the site does not.
- We use your email to tell you when Proveny opens and to add the bonus credits promised for joining.
- We use the button and campaign tags to understand which parts of the site and which emails bring people in.
Waitlist details are held for us by the email platform that sends your invitation. It uses them only to send our emails on our behalf. Unsubscribing, or writing to contact@proveny.ai, takes you off the list.
Your browser also remembers the email you joined with, on your device only, so the form can tell you that you are already on the list. It is not a cookie and is never sent to us; clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
Why we use it
- To do what you asked: read a listing, produce the understanding and angles, write a script, generate and regenerate video.
- To run your account: plan limits, credit balances, billing and invoices.
- To provide support and investigate problems you report.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and enforce our terms.
- To improve Proveny, as described in section 8.
Where data-protection law asks us for a legal basis, ours are: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in security, abuse prevention and improving the service, your consent for non-essential cookies and marketing, and compliance with legal obligations such as keeping invoices.
The listing you bring in
When you paste a product listing link, we retrieve the publicly available content of that listing, including images, video, description and specifications, and store it with your product in your account. We use it to work out what the product is and to ground everything generated for it.
That content comes from a third-party listing rather than from you, and we do not control what is in it. Supplier photos sometimes contain people, and occasionally other material the supplier had no right to publish. We do not try to identify anyone in a listing image, we do not match faces, and we do not build profiles from listing content. Under the Terms you confirm you hold the rights to the listing material you bring in. If you believe material of yours has been brought into Proveny by someone with no right to use it, write to us and we will act on it.
If you connect an ad channel
Proveny does not need access to any ad account to generate video, and nothing in this policy assumes you have given it. Where Proveny offers a connection to an ad channel and you choose to authorise one, two things follow.
- We receive campaign data for the campaigns Proveny created: their identifiers, settings and aggregate performance figures such as spend, impressions, clicks and results. We use it to show you how those campaigns are doing and, over time, to make better creative for you.
- We do not receive audience data. We do not collect, request or build profiles of the people who saw your ads, and we do not receive their personal data from the platform.
The access token for a connection is stored encrypted and scoped to what the connection needs. You can revoke it at any time, at the platform or in Proveny.
What a generated video contains
Presenters, hands and bystanders in a Proveny video are generated. They are not filmed, they are not real people, and they are not built from photographs of anyone you or we have identified. We do not accept a photograph of a person as an instruction, and directing a presenter to resemble a real person is not allowed under the Terms.
Generative models can still produce a face that resembles someone by coincidence. If you think a generated person resembles a real one, tell us and we will regenerate the video and look at what caused it.
AI generation: what leaves our system
Generation is done with third-party AI model providers. This is the part most policies leave out, so it is stated plainly.
What we send out
To produce your analysis, scripts and videos we send the listing material for your product and the text you write in Proveny to those providers as API input. Our agreements with them require no training on your data, and either no retention or a short retention window for abuse monitoring only.
- We do not send your account credentials, your payment details, or any ad-channel tokens to model providers.
- If you put personal or confidential information into a comment or an angle, it travels to the provider as part of that input.
- Generated output comes back to us and is stored in your account so you can review, revise and download it.
Providers change as models change. For the current list, ask contact@proveny.ai and we will tell you.
How we improve Proveny
We learn from how the system is used: which analyses were re-run, which videos were regenerated, what the comments asked to change, and which generations failed. That is how mechanism accuracy gets better, and it is what the Terms describe as improving Proveny for everyone.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- We do not hand your material to model providers for their training. Our agreements with them forbid it.
- We do not use your product imagery or your videos in our own marketing without asking you first. Asking means asking, each time, and no is an acceptable answer.
- You can opt out. Write to contact@proveny.ai and we will exclude your account from this. It does not change what the service costs you or how it works.
Who else processes your data
We use a small set of service providers to run Proveny. Each one gets only the data its job needs, and each is bound by a contract that stops it using your data for anything else. Ask contact@proveny.ai for the current named list.
| Role | What it handles |
|---|---|
| AI model providers | Producing the understanding, scripts and videos from your product material |
| Cloud hosting and storage | Servers, database and video file storage |
| Content delivery | Serving video files back to you quickly for playback and download |
| Payment processing | Subscription billing, invoices and card details we never see |
| Email and support | Transactional email and the conversations you have with us |
| Waitlist and launch email | Waitlist sign-ups and the emails about the launch |
| Analytics and error monitoring | Product usage in aggregate, and crash and error reports |
| Ad platforms | Only if you connect one, and only for the campaigns Proveny created |
How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account is open. Close it and we delete it, apart from what we must keep for tax and accounting.
- Products, analyses and generated videos: until you delete them or close your account, so your work stays where you left it. Download anything you want to keep before you close an account.
- AI prompt and response logs: kept briefly for debugging, then deleted.
- Waitlist details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If you create an account, they become part of it.
- Billing records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Server and error logs: short-lived, and rotated out automatically.
You can ask us to delete your data at any point and we will, apart from the records the law requires us to keep.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask for it in a portable format, object to or restrict some processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Write to contact@proveny.ai. One email is enough, and we do not charge for it.
We answer as fast as we can, and always within the deadline the law sets for us. If you are not happy with how we handled a request, you can complain to the data-protection authority for the country you live in.
Cookies and tracking
- Essential. Session and security cookies that keep you signed in. These cannot be switched off.
- Preferences. Small settings such as your last-used view.
- Product analytics. Aggregate measurement of which parts of the product get used.
There are no third-party advertising pixels inside the Proveny app. The marketing site may use analytics cookies where you consent to them. The waitlist form sets no cookies; it only stores the email you joined with in your own browser, as described in section 2. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; the product will still work, you may just have to sign in again.
Where your data is processed
Proveny runs on cloud infrastructure, and some of the providers we rely on, including AI model providers, process data in other countries. When your data crosses a border we rely on the standard safeguards data-protection law provides for, in the contracts we sign with those providers. Ask contact@proveny.ai if you need the detail for a vendor review.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Any ad-channel tokens are scoped and stored encrypted. Access inside our team is on a need-to-know basis and logged. If a breach affects your data, we tell you and the relevant authority without undue delay.
Changes to this policy
The version on this page is always the one in force. When something material changes, such as a new category of data, a new kind of provider, or a new purpose, we tell you by email or in the product before it takes effect. For the version that applied on a particular date, ask contact@proveny.ai.
Contact
Proveny is responsible for the data described here. Privacy questions, access and deletion requests, opt-out requests and vendor-review paperwork all go to contact@proveny.ai, and a person reads every one of them.
